Shelley Hankins

I have worked in Human Resources since 1994 and for Chubb Bulleid since 2023. As their HR Manager, I deliver a full generalist role with the support of an HR Advisor. Much of my experience has been gained in the not-for-profit sector.

What I remain passionate about, is seeing employees thrive and develop. There is nothing better than confirming to the Company that someone is being promoted.

What I do

My work encompasses all aspects of the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment, onboarding, and development. Providing advice to the Directors on best practice HR and supporting employees through different stages in their life, during their time with us.

I believe in a straight-talking, open-door approach to building good relationships across all levels of the business, with an ethos of ‘put people first’.

A bit more about me

I wanted to work in an HR generalist, as I have a genuine enthusiasm for the strategic and operational elements of the role and providing people related solutions.

The most rewarding part of my work is watching someone succeed in their role and develop their knowledge and skills.

Outside of work, my family are everything and we spend a lot of time together travelling. I also like to lift weights and hike in remote places – my favourite to date is the Himalayas. When not being energetic, I like to cuddle up with my Siamese cat and read a good book.

If I wasn’t in HR, I would have liked to be a Doctor.
