Ryan Hemmings

I’m a residential conveyancer with well over a decade of experience, and I’m currently completing my CLC Level 6 Diploma in Conveyancing Law and Practice. Somerset born and bred, I enjoy getting to know my clients and working closely with them through what are often some of the biggest milestones in their lives. I’m naturally forward-thinking and enjoy finding practical solutions, adapting the way I work to suit each client rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

What I do

I work with clients on freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity and shared ownership matters. I enjoy working closely with clients to understand what they want to achieve and helping them realise their property ambitions, whether for themselves or their loved ones. I take pride in the attention to detail that each transaction requires, particularly where there are more complex circumstances or multiple people involved. I work collaboratively with clients, agents, brokers, lenders and other professionals to make sure everything is carefully coordinated from start to finish. My work is mainly across Somerset and the South West, but I also act for clients moving to and from all over the country — local knowledge, national reach.

A bit more about me

What’s the most rewarding part of your work?

The people. I really enjoy interacting with clients from the very beginning, having those initial conversations, getting to know them and understanding what’s important to them. I like building that relationship throughout the transaction and being part of an important milestone for them and their loved ones.

What do you do when you’re not in the office?

I spend time with my wife and our Brussels Griffon, Hooper. I’m a keen sports fan, following Newcastle United and Somerset County Cricket Club, and enjoy running, cycling and golf. I’m also really into fantasy sports, particularly FPL, which regularly reminds me that even in my fantasies, I’m bad at sports.

What’s something clients are often surprised to learn about you?

I’m a self-confessed music anorak and a devoted Top of the Pops viewer. I’m also a proud winner on both PopMaster and Ten to the Top on BBC Radio 2. — neither has helped with a conveyancing transaction yet. I like to think my “track record” speaks for itself!
