Layla Nash-Cree

I am a Trainee Solicitor, completing a Solicitor Apprenticeship, in the Private Client department. I had previously worked towards a Paralegal qualification, which I completed and qualified in September 2025.

I grew up in Hampshire but moved to Somerset in August 2023 to start my career in Law. I joined Chubb Bulleid in March 2026, allowing me to further progress my career.

What I enjoy most about my role is the interaction with clients and being able to assist them. I enjoy learning things about my clients and being able to guide them through the matter they have instructed me on.

What I do

The work I typically carry out includes Will writing, whether it is a simple Will or one that includes a Trust, preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney and assisting in Estate Administration when someone has passed away.

There are other aspects within Private Client I also cover, including Trust Registration and Deeds of Variation.

My current supervisor is Kelli Pimm, an Associate Solicitor in the team. Kelli helps guide me through my work, ensuring it is to the highest standard.

A bit more about me

What’s the most rewarding part of your work?

I find it rewarding to see matters progress and to know I am supporting clients through difficult times. I also value getting to know clients, building relationships with them, and hearing about their lives and what interesting things they may have done.

What do you do when you’re not in the office?

You will usually find me either reading, watching a TV series or playing video games. I also travel back to Hampshire often to see family and friends over the weekend.

If you weren’t a lawyer, what would you be doing?

Probably something to do with animals, I have two rescue cats and have always had pets growing up. Otherwise maybe doing something in the music industry, I used to be in a band during secondary school!
