Katie Goodyer

I am a Commercial Property Executive, soon due to qualify as a CILEX Lawyer. I grew up in Somerset and love living in the South West. Over the last few years, I have been studying with CILEX whilst working full time which has been challenging but very rewarding. I was drawn to Chubb Bulleid as it was important to me that I qualified within a firm that valued CILEX Lawyers and had an inclusive culture.

What I do

I work in the Commercial Real Estate Team, with a particular interest in development work and strategic land matters. I act for landowners, developers and promoters, which gives me a broad perspective and helps me understand the priorities of each party involved. I particularly enjoy working on large matters where several documents and different elements need to work together. When acting for landowners, I aim to make what can sometimes feel like a daunting process as straightforward and manageable as possible. I believe clear and consistent communication is essential throughout, so that clients always understand what is happening and feel comfortable asking questions along the way.

What’s the most rewarding part of your work?

The most rewarding part of my work is helping clients find practical and commercial solutions and seeing a transaction through to a successful conclusion.

What do you do when you’re not in the office?

Outside of work, I enjoy keeping active, spending time with my husband exploring the countryside, and reading. I’m also a huge foodie and love trying new places to eat.
