Issy Ford

I joined Chubb Bulleid in May 2025, I am a qualified Conveyancing Paralegal acting as Legal Assistant to Hannah Allen in the conveyancing department in the Wells office! My career in law started straight after leaving college when I joined a law firm as a receptionist. From there, I discovered my passion for conveyancing and gradually moved into the conveyancing department where I studied and completed the CILEx Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship and qualified in September 2024!

What I do

My main day to day tasks involves supporting clients throughout their property journey, from being their first point of contact at the beginning of a transaction right through to setting up and handling completions at the end. I particularly enjoy building relationships with clients and helping to make what can often be a stressful and complicated process feel as smooth and straightforward as possible. No two days are the same, which is one of the things I enjoy most about my role.

What is the most rewarding part of your work?

Buying or selling a property can be an exciting but stressful experience, and I particularly enjoy being able to guide clients through the process, answer their questions and provide reassurance along the way. It is extremely rewarding to know that I have played a part in helping a client achieve their end goal and that I have made what can sometimes feel like a complicated process a little easier for them.

What do you enjoy when you’re not in the office?

Outside the office, I love travelling and exploring new countries with my fiancé, Tom. We recently got engaged in Mexico! I love keeping active in the gym, spending time with family and friends and going on long walks with my two labradors.

If you weren’t a lawyer, what would you be doing?

I think I would have been either an air hostess or travel agent just because I love to travel and see new places!
