Helen Trask

I am the Accounts Manager at Chubb Bulleid, with over 20 years’ experience working within legal finance and practice management. As a member of the Institute of Legal Finance & Management, holding the ILFM Diploma, I am passionate about ensuring that financial operations run smoothly whilst supporting both colleagues and clients. I joined Chubb Bulleid in 2019 and have enjoyed being part of such a friendly and supportive firm, where people genuinely work together to deliver the best possible service for clients.

What I do

As Accounts Manager, I lead and support a team of seven, overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the firm. My role involves ensuring compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules, whilst maintaining high standards of accuracy and service across all accounting functions. I am also responsible for the preparation of the firm’s management accounts, providing financial information and insights that support effective decision-making across the business.

I work closely with colleagues throughout the firm, providing guidance, resolving queries and helping to improve processes wherever possible. I believe an accounts team should do more than process transactions; it should act as a proactive support function that adds value, enables efficiency and helps the wider firm achieve its goals.

What’s the most rewarding part of your work?

Supporting and developing my team is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role. I enjoy helping people build confidence, solve problems and achieve their potential, whilst contributing to the success of the firm.

What do you do when you’re not in the office?

Most weekends you’ll find me on the side-lines of a football pitch supporting my daughter. Away from football, I enjoy cooking, reading, photography and travelling with my family.
