Fiona Barnwell-Diane

I am a Commercial Property Solicitor based in the Street office and I qualified as a Solicitor in November 2017. I joined Chubb Bulleid as a trainee.

I enjoy the work as it is often very detailed and no two matters are the same. I appreciate the importance of understanding what our clients are trying to achieve in a transaction and providing clear practical advice.

What I do

My work is mainly focused on acting for individuals or companies selling or purchasing the assets of a business such as café/restaurant or pub as well as dealing and assisting with the sale and purchase of holiday and residential parks.

I have experience of dealing with the sale and purchase of general commercial property such as commercial industrial units, as well as real estate finance matters.

What do you do when you’re not in the office?

I enjoy spending time with family, swimming, travelling, and practising my French.

What’s something clients are often surprised to learn about you?

Clients are often surprised to hear that I spent time studying and working in France.

If you weren’t a solicitor, what would you be doing?

If I had not chosen a legal career path then I would probably have become a French translator.
