Diane Pearce

I am a Partner in the Business Services team here at Chubb Bulleid. I qualified in 2006, after starting my legal career with Paris Smith in Southampton, and now advise businesses on the corporate and commercial issues that matter most to them.
I enjoy working closely with businesses to understand how they operate, help them meet their objectives and solve problems along the way. I pride myself on building strong, long-standing relationships with my clients and fellow professionals.

What I do

My legal practice is quite varied, covering both corporate and commercial legal services across a range of sectors. No two days are ever the same! I work with business owners throughout the lifecycle of their businesses advising from the start up and inception through to growth, sale and exit.
As well as representing clients in mergers and acquisitions, I regularly advise clients on an array of company matters including shareholder issues, joint ventures, intellectual property and data protection.

What’s the most rewarding part of your work?

The people. I enjoy meeting people from all different walks of life, helping business owners realise the reward for their hard work, and working alongside talented colleagues who continue to inspire me to practice law.

What do you do when you’re not in the office?

Outside the office, life is busy as a mum of three sports-mad children. When I am not being a lawyer or a mum, I find time to play netball, run and occasionally watch Southampton Football Club on the odd Saturday afternoon.

If you weren’t a lawyer, what would you be doing?

This is a question that always gets me thinking. I think I was always drawn to business, and I once had the chance to become a buyer in the retail sector, so that could have taken me in a different direction. In the end, I continued with law and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
With the benefit of age and experience, I would like to think I could have made it as a journalist or a novelist too.
