Claire Letchford

I am a legal assistant in the agricultural department.

Having worked in commercial property departments at a couple of different firms in south east England since 2012, I was interested to make a move into something a little different and when the opportunity to join the agricultural team at Chubb Bulleid presented itself in 2022 it also allowed me to fulfil a long held dream to live in the south west!

What I do

My main role is to support Laura Maden in her very busy role as head of department.

I am usually the first point of contact for all new enquiries whether by telephone or email and this brings me into contact with many different people, from seasoned land owners and farmers to people venturing into their first land purchase.

I also help keep our clients and other parties updated during transactions and deal with the post completion aspects of our work which includes liaising with the Land Registry.

What’s the most rewarding part of your work?

Helping people! Whether it is a client, a solicitor, an agent or a colleague, I get a lot of satisfaction from feeling people know they can come to me for assistance and answers.

What do you do when you’re not in the office?

Being at home cuddling a cat is about the happiest you’ll find me!

I enjoy walking and one of my favourite places is Glastonbury Tor. I also enjoy going to the theatre and concerts.

I’m a very amateur gardener and like to garden for nature and give wildlife a helping hand. I’m a bit of a plant addict and will usually be found at the garden stall at Wells Market every Wednesday lunchtime!
