Ruth Jackson

I joined the firm in 2021 as in-house barrister and head of the family team.

My background: after qualification as a barrister, I followed the traditional working pattern of a barrister in chambers, based in London, but working up and down the country.  I took on a role as barrister within a firm of solicitors and, since moving to Somerset, am delighted to be working at Chubb Bulleid.

My professional experience covers all aspects of family law including financial matters on divorce, disputes concerning children, nuptial agreements, and issues concerning separation of cohabiting couples.

Where appropriate, I work with clients to achieve settlement of their dispute without involving the court.  When circumstances require however, as a barrister, I provide continuity of care and representation to clients, from the first meeting in the office to the final hearing in court.

I am a member of Resolution, a network of family justice professionals dedicated to the constructive resolution of family disputes.

Favourite book: The Wind in the Willows.  As well as being a children’s story, it is a perfect exposition of the inter-relationship of the four Greek character types, and the strengths and weaknesses of each
